April 1 - Vera Wong’s Guide to Snooping (On a Dead Man) by Jesse Q. Sutanto
Why I’m Excited: I know this one is already out, but it was recent enough I wanted to include it. I loved the first in this series (Vera Wong’s Unsolicited Advice for Murderers). It was funny and witty and had me laughing throughout. I’m excited to read this one - I’m #6 in line for the audiobook at my library!
April 1 - The Sirens by Emilia Hart
Why I’m Excited: I don’t know a ton about this one, but I liked Weyward, so I’ll end up reading this one at some point!
April 15 - The Ashfire King by Chelsea Abullah
Why I’m Excited: This is book 2 in the Sandsea Trilogy. I enjoyed the first one and will be excited when I pick this one up!
April 22 - Great Big Beautiful Life by Emily Henry
Why I’m Excited: Romance isn’t usually my favorite genre, but I picked up Beach Read a few months after it came out in 2020. I loved it - and I have read every one of her books that have come out since.
April 22 - Voice of the Ocean by Kelsey Impicciche
Why I’m Excited: New author who is a Sims 4 content creator that I’ve followed for a long time. When I heard she was writing a book, I signed up to receive updates. When I heard it was a Little Mermaid retelling, I was even more excited!
April 29 - The Buffalo Hunter Hunter by Stephen Graham Jones
Why I’m Excited: I’ve read a couple books by this author and generally enjoy them. They are usually different than anything I’ve read before but his books are always interesting and keep my attention. I read (listened to) his book “I Was a Teenage Slasher” earlier this year and was entertained the whole time! His characters aren’t always the good guy but the stories usually thrive because of that.
May 13 - The Man Made of Smoke by Alex North
Why I’m Excited: I’ve read The Whisper Man, and The Shadows by Alex North - and really enjoyed them both! Thriller/horror is right up my alley and I always love finding an author I can come back to again and again.
May 27 - Never Flinch by Stephen King
Why I’m Excited: Holly Gibney is probably one of my favorite literary characters ever. She’s funny, she’s anxious, she does what she needs to do to get the job done. I’m a huge King fan and still working my way through a lot of the early stuff (I’ve read a lot of it too!), but I love when a new King book comes out.
